The newest attraction in west-central Idaho is McCall Lake Cruises – an Idaho-based, environmentally conscious company that offers visitors an experience on beautiful Payette Lake like no other.
McCall Lake Cruises provides the perfect opportunity to view the lake and its natural surroundings from the comfort of THE IDAHO – a 60-foot, 85-passenger cruise vessel built in northern Idaho. THE IDAHO is equipped with an upper deck for 360-degree viewing, a heated lower cabin with windows throughout, and his and hers restrooms, as well as full bar services. While under way, THE IDAHO has very little impact on the shoreline of Payette Lake due to the hull design.
As THE IDAHO cruises around the lake, passengers are treated to a history of the area, points of interest, and the unique features of McCall and Payette Lake. “We are excited to offer cruises on Payette Lake for visitors and locals alike!” said owner Bret Armacost. “The sunset cruises are already becoming a huge draw.” THE IDAHO was originally built in 1983 in northern Idaho and was brought to McCall after extensive refurbishing and maintenance in early 2012.
THE IDAHO is owned and operated by Bret and Doris Armacost, who have many years of experience in Idaho’s boating and tourism industry. The Armacosts started boating on the Snake River and now like to say they’ve gone form the wild of Hells Canyon to the mild of Payette Lake. The Armacosts had the opportunity to grow their business in 2013 and look forward to further expanding their services with additional cruises during the 2014 season. They also look forward to improving on the vessel’s alternative energy enhancements.
McCall Lake Cruises offers public cruises for any age group, with accommodations for babies, seniors, and everyone in-between. It also can host private event cruises such as birthday parties, wedding rehearsal dinners, and corporate meetings or parties, all tailored to the guests’ preference. The company works with local catering services that can fit any preference to ensure the best experience.
